Sunday night’s Elite Eight showdown promises to deliver, and the top-seeded Auburn Tigers head in as clear favorites, laying between 4.5 and 5.5 points across most sportsbooks.
The Tigers have been battle-tested all season, playing the second-toughest schedule in the nation and still managing to post an impressive 31-5 straight-up record. Even more telling is the way they’ve won — 27 of those 31 victories have come by five points or more, with an average winning margin of 14.3 points. That’s the sign of a team that not only wins, but dominates.
On the flip side, Michigan State has been flirting with trouble from beyond the arc all year long. The Spartans rank a dismal 318th nationally in three-point shooting at just 31.1%. Auburn’s defense, however, is built to expose that flaw — they rank seventh in the country in three-point defense, holding opponents to a stingy 29.6% from deep.
Turnovers could also play a big role here. Auburn is one of the best in the country at protecting the basketball, ranking seventh in turnover rate at just 13.2%. If they continue to value possessions and clamp down defensively, especially around the perimeter, Auburn should be in full control. Take Auburn ATS
